nockda Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 July 2026
These terms have not been reviewed by a lawyer. They are published now so that nockda can operate transparently during early access, and will be reviewed by qualified counsel (UK consumer-contract law) before nockda exits beta. If anything here needs to change as a result of that review, we will update this page and notify users of material changes (see §12).
At a glance
- nockda is a nickname-based social network with a local marketplace. You must be 17 or older to use it.
- Marketplace trades are direct deals between users, arranged over chat. nockda is not a party to any trade and does not provide payment, escrow, or delivery services. You are responsible for the outcome of your own trades.
- Posts and listings are automatically screened by AI before they go live, and may be rejected for policy violations.
- The only paid feature is the nockda Plus monthly subscription, purchased exclusively through the App Store or Google Play. Refunds follow the relevant store's policy.
- After you delete your account, posts and messages you wrote may remain, in anonymised form (see our Privacy Policy for details).
1. Who these terms are with
- Service provider: Hyun Suk Lee, operating nockda as an individual pending formal business registration ("nockda," "we," "us"). Contact: help@nockda.com.
- These terms apply to your use of the nockda app and related services. Creating an account means you agree to them.
- How we handle your personal data is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility
- You must be 17 or older. We verify your age at sign-up, and accounts confirmed to belong to someone under 17 are not permitted.
- If your account was previously suspended or terminated for a policy violation, you may not create a new one.
3. Your account
- Sign-up is only via Apple or Google Sign-In; within the service, you act under a nickname.
- You're responsible for the security of your account and login method. Let us know immediately if you notice unauthorized use of your account.
- One account per person. Accounts may not be transferred or sold.
4. Content and licence
- You own the rights to the posts, listings, messages, and images you upload ("your content").
- You grant nockda a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and transmit your content to the extent needed to operate the service. This licence is limited to that purpose.
- After account deletion, posts and messages may remain on the service with the author anonymised, and this licence continues to apply to that extent (see our Privacy Policy §5).
- You may only post content that doesn't infringe someone else's rights (copyright, image rights, etc.).
5. Prohibited conduct
The following are not allowed:
- Hate speech, sexual exploitation material, harassment, threats, spam, or fraud
- Listing illegal or restricted goods, including (without limitation) weapons and firearms, knives and other age-restricted blades, controlled drugs, counterfeit goods, stolen goods, prescription medicines, and other goods restricted under UK law
- Impersonating another person, or using false information to induce a trade
- Circumventing the service's technical protections, or unauthorised use of automated tools (bots, scraping)
- Use by anyone under 17
6. Content review and enforcement
- Posts and listings go through automatic AI pre-screening before going live. If content is judged to violate our policies, it will be rejected and you'll be notified.
- If you disagree with an AI rejection, you can contact us at help@nockda.com to request a human review. We plan to add an in-app appeal button in a future update; this page will be updated once that's available.
- You can report other users' posts, listings, messages, or accounts. Reports are reviewed by our team.
- Depending on the severity of a violation, we may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate an account. Except in serious cases, we'll let you know why beforehand.
7. Marketplace
- nockda only provides the venue for listings and trade chat. The parties to any sale contract are the buyer and seller — nockda is not a party to it.
- We do not provide payment, escrow, delivery, or item-inspection services. How payment is made and the item delivered is entirely up to the parties.
- We do not warrant the quality, safety, or legality of listed items, or that either party will fulfil their side of the deal. We will act under §6 on reported scams or illegal listings.
- We recommend meeting in a public place for in-person trades.
8. nockda Plus subscription
- The only paid product is the nockda Plus monthly subscription, which unlocks access to content from an additional country. The exact price is shown in the App Store or Google Play at the time of purchase.
- Payment is made exclusively through App Store or Google Play in-app purchase. Managing your subscription (including cancellation) and refunds are governed by the relevant store's own policies and procedures.
- Unless cancelled, the subscription renews automatically each month. You can cancel any time in your store's subscription settings; access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- When your subscription expires, access to that country's content is withdrawn. Your follows are preserved and restored if you resubscribe.
- We'll notify you of any price change before it takes effect on your next renewal. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including any statutory right to withdraw from a purchase.
9. Changes to and interruption of the service
- We may improve, change, or discontinue features. We'll give reasonable notice of changes that materially affect you.
- The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance or outages; we'll make commercially reasonable efforts to restore it.
10. Termination
- You can delete your account in the app at any time. After deletion, there's a 30-day grace period before your personal data is erased (see our Privacy Policy §5).
- We may suspend or terminate your account for a serious breach of these terms. Where possible, we'll tell you why.
11. Limitation of liability
- The service is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, nockda is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from trades between users or from user-generated content.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes: liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, liability for fraud, our liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
- We may update these terms. We'll give at least 30 days' notice of material changes via an in-app announcement. If you don't agree with a change, you can delete your account; continuing to use nockda after the change takes effect means you accept it.
13. Governing law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you're a consumer resident elsewhere, any mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence continue to apply and are not overridden by this clause.
- Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country of residence.
- We are not currently affiliated with a certified Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider. You're welcome to contact us directly first to resolve any dispute.
